Tax preparer faces multiple felony fraud charges

Updated December 11, 2024

BATON ROUGE – A Terrebonne Parish woman faces multiple felony charges for the attempted theft of thousands of dollars in fraudulent state income tax refunds.

Investigators with the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) say Tammy Feet Davis (Booking Photo), of Dulac, filed false tax returns in the names of two of her tax preparation clients. The LDR Criminal Investigation Division prevented the issuance of $7,216 in fraudulent refunds to Davis. Her clients told investigators they did not file the suspicious returns or authorize Davis to do so.

Davis was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, Dec. 10 on felony charges of attempted theft, identity theft, computer fraud and filing false public records.

Davis is the 76th person arrested under a joint anti-tax fraud initiative of the Louisiana Department of Revenue and the state attorney general’s office.
